Mighty 8th Air Force Museum Tour

We have just reserved May 15th for lunch and a tour of the Mighty Eighth Air Force National Museum in Pooler, GA.

Some details below: 

Cost/pp $22 for lunch and tour

10:45 am - Depart Bluffton for scenic drive, approx 1 hour

Noon - Lunch; from fixed menu.

Can accommodate diet requests made in advance

1-3pm - Guided Tour

Return home - on your own

Registration for the drive/dine at the Mighty 8th Museum closes May 7.

Meeting Time: 10:30 am

Logistics for Drive

• Wednesday May 15th 

• Meet at Parkers 6200 Jennifer Court, Bluffton  

• Be there by 10:30 - Departure at 10:45 Sharp

• We will line up behind Parkers on Jennifer Court to caravan along the route

• The drive should take about an hour.  We are taking the scenic route, staying off Interstates etc.

• Route maps and directions will be sent to those who sign up

• Drive home on your own - more scenic roads of your choice or take I95

• Mighty 8th brochures will be available at the April 17th lunch at TidePointe

At the Museum

• Lunch at the museum restaurant "Miss Sophie's" at 12:00 noon

• Typical lunch Includes: Green salad, Rolls & Butter, Herb Roasted Chicken, Mash Potatoes, Green Beans, Peach Cobbler, Sweet & Unsweetened Tea, & Water. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated with advance notice.

• Tour from 1pm to 3pm 

• Tour includes: Guided exploration of 16 Exhibits and special experiences like The Mission Experience: Imagine yourself as a member of the 8th Air Force in WWII.  Get ready for your pre-flight briefing in a Nissen Hut, experience Flight Line operations with the ground crew, and complete your journey in the Mission Theater where you are immersed in an 8th Air Force bombing mission!
